Trainee Frontend Development (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital agency in Berlin that builds modern web applications, e-commerce platforms, and interfaces for clients ranging from established brands to nonprofit organizations. As a Frontend Development Trainee, you will work directly on client projects from day one within cross-functional teams.

Your daily work includes:

• Developing components and user interfaces for websites, shops, and applications
• Growing from building individual components to implementing complete features
• Writing tests and participating in code reviews, both as author and reviewer
• Ensuring accessibility and performance as core parts of your craft
• Collaborating in agile project teams alongside backend developers, designers, and project managers
• Working with AI-assisted development tools as a standard part of the workflow

What We're Looking For

This is a 12-month structured traineeship with a dedicated mentor from the frontend team and a clear development plan aimed at permanent placement.

Required skills:

• Solid HTML and CSS knowledge with an understanding of clean markup
• JavaScript fundamentals—you understand what your code does, not just that it works
• Initial exposure to React or Vue, whether from studies, bootcamp, career change programs, or personal projects
• Curiosity about AI tools and the ability to critically evaluate their output rather than blindly accepting suggestions
• Openness to feedback and the ability to ask questions before getting stuck
• German at a very good level; English sufficient for reading documentation

Technical environment:

• Modern stack: TypeScript, React with Next.js (App Router) or Vue with Nuxt 3
• Code reviews as standard practice
• Automated testing with mandatory coverage thresholds
• Static code analysis and error monitoring built into every project
• Custom-built AI development tools including code-review agents and ticket automation

Formal qualifications matter less than what you can demonstrate. A GitHub profile, side project, or bootcamp final work speaks louder than certificates.

Work arrangement: Hybrid in Berlin—minimum two days per week in the office for collaborative work, remaining days flexible. The office days are intentionally structured as shared team days, especially valuable during the traineeship for faster learning through direct exchange.
