Site Reliability Engineer in Network Infrastructure

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing cloud infrastructure organization that is building critical network systems at significant scale. Our talent team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer in Network Infrastructure to join their European operations based in the Netherlands.

This is an engineering-first SRE role focused on the reliability and scalability of core network infrastructure. You'll define reliability targets, build automation, and make network operations safer and more efficient as the platform scales.

Responsibilities

• Define and own reliability goals for network services and critical paths, including SLIs/SLOs, availability targets, and error budgets
• Drive reliability improvements across the entire network stack: services, site readiness, inter-site connectivity, and operational standards
• Own incident response for your areas, lead investigations and postmortems, and implement durable fixes to prevent recurrence
• Build and evolve observability infrastructure: actionable metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and faster debugging workflows
• Design safer change workflows including automation, CI/CD pipelines, test/staging environments, canary deployments, rollbacks, and audit trails for network changes
• Collaborate with network engineers and platform teams to embed operability into system designs and maintain practical, fast operations

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong production Linux fundamentals and structured approach to debugging complex systems
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and real-world failure modes (control plane vs data plane, latency/loss, failure domains)
• Hands-on experience operating high-availability systems and driving continuous reliability improvements
• Ability to write and maintain software and automation (Go or Python preferred)
• Experience with modern infrastructure tooling including IaC, CI/CD, and container platforms
• Comfort automating operational workflows

Bonus qualifications:

• Experience with high-throughput traffic processing: load balancers, tunneling/decap, NAT64, or similar datapath-heavy systems
• Low-level networking performance and debugging background (eBPF/XDP, DPDK, perf/ftrace, kernel networking internals)
• Experience building network-safe delivery pipelines with testing labs, staged rollouts, automated verification, and drift detection
• Background with large-scale network observability and telemetry systems
