Engineering Manager – Python and K8s

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential open-source technology organization in their search for an Engineering Manager with strong Python and Kubernetes expertise. Our client is transforming their internal systems approach, building DevOps culture into corporate information systems and productizing business workloads for real-time automated operations on Kubernetes.

This is a remote leadership role for candidates located in APAC or EMEA time zones. You'll lead a regional engineering team focused on making critical business workloads highly available through modern infrastructure practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead a regional team of engineers focused on productizing business workloads on Kubernetes
• Build, manage, and grow your engineering team through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
• Contribute directly to technical goals while providing sound software architecture guidance
• Set realistic schedules based on considered estimates with continuous improvement loops
• Manage expectations with other engineering teams and external stakeholders
• Advance modern, agile software development practices across the organization
• Maintain a culture of quality, testing excellence, and thorough documentation
• Collaborate with other leaders as an active member of the leadership team
• Foster a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with organizational values

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in Docker and Kubernetes operations
• Strong software engineering background with demonstrated Python expertise
• Experience developing Python frameworks and designing stable, consumable APIs
• Technical leadership experience with a track record of developing and growing people
• Passion for embracing new technologies and pushing boundaries
• Interest in building products that improve how people operate software and infrastructure
• Deep knowledge of software development best practices
• Experience working in agile development environments
• Ability to travel globally up to 20% for team meetings and events
