Data Science Manager, Growth

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Data Science Manager to lead their Growth analytics function. This role sits at the intersection of financial forecasting, product analytics, and strategic decision-making. You'll manage a team building the predictive models and data infrastructure that drive business planning and measurement across the organization.

We're looking for an experienced manager who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills and executive presence. You'll partner with Finance, Strategy, and Product teams to inform critical business decisions through sophisticated modeling and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive the roadmap and priorities for your data science team, collaborating with leaders across the organization to enhance data-driven decision-making
• Manage a high-performing team of data scientists, supporting their technical growth and career advancement
• Lead processes that enable your team to do their best work and engage effectively across functions
• Partner with stakeholders in engineering, analytics, operations, finance, and marketing to deliver impactful solutions
• Recruit and onboard exceptional data science talent in collaboration with recruiting partners
• Contribute to broader data science initiatives as part of the leadership team
• Provide technical guidance on architecture decisions, modeling approaches, and system design to staff and senior scientists

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• PhD, MS, or BS in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering
• At least 3 years of direct management experience leading data science or ML teams
• 10+ years of overall data science experience
• Demonstrated expertise in designing metrics and guiding business decisions with data
• Technical depth to drive clarity on strategic modeling and architecture decisions with senior team members
• Track record managing teams that have built and shipped machine learning systems and data products at scale
• Hands-on experience solving challenging data science problems
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with ability to make rigorous tradeoffs and decisions
• Clear and persuasive communication skills in writing and speaking, including to executive audiences
• Comfort with high levels of autonomy and responsibility
• Commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive, challenging, and supportive team environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with geographically distributed teams
• Expertise in time series forecasting, predictive modeling, or optimization
• Expertise in data design and building scalable data architectures
