Cybersecurity Analyst

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organisation seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for their London office. This is a hands-on detection and response position that goes well beyond traditional monitoring—you'll be engineering the tools and systems that protect the firm's employees, data, and infrastructure.

In this role, you'll combine incident response, detection engineering, security engineering, SOC automation, threat hunting, threat modeling, and security awareness. You'll research and prioritize emerging threats, hunt for them in enterprise data, write code to detect them, and continuously tune detections to maximize quality. You'll maintain full ownership of the detection and response lifecycle, from alert creation through incident remediation.

You'll also serve as a cybersecurity ambassador across the organisation, promoting best practices and bringing colleagues along on the security journey. The team values staying current with the broader cybersecurity landscape while focusing on what truly matters for day-to-day operations.

What We're Looking For

• Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong programming skills with demonstrated aptitude for learning
• Active follower of cybersecurity news and developments
• Comfortable managing code and configurations in version control
• Experience with threat modeling and understanding security tradeoffs
• Ability to explain cybersecurity decisions clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues
• Adaptability in changing scenarios and capability to make decisions under pressure
• Intellectual curiosity with a collaborative, positive attitude
• Humility about knowledge gaps; willingness to ask questions and admit mistakes
• Fluency in English
