Geospatial Data Analyst (f/m/x) in the field of AI & Satellite Data

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential satellite analytics organization in their search for a Geospatial Data Analyst to join their Berlin operations team. This is a 1-year fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.

Our client uses AI and satellite imagery to monitor critical infrastructure globally. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of geospatial data, analytics pipelines, and real-world infrastructure projects across energy and transportation sectors. You'll collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operations teams to ensure analytics deliveries meet quality standards and deadlines.

This is a hybrid position based in Berlin, requiring you to live in or relocate to the city.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, validate, and interpret geospatial and satellite data across global customer projects
• Take ownership of analytics deliveries, ensuring technical quality and reliability
• Investigate data and pipeline issues, identify root causes, and communicate findings to engineering teams
• Work across different analytics use cases in energy and transportation infrastructure
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and operations teams to resolve issues and maintain delivery schedules
• Develop end-to-end understanding of analytics pipelines and identify improvement opportunities
• Provide structured feedback to product and engineering teams on recurring issues or enhancement opportunities
• Use AI coding and analysis tools for data validation and pipeline debugging, while critically validating outputs
• Work with QGIS, Python, SQL, AWS, remote sensing tools, and large-scale geospatial datasets

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Degree in geoinformatics, remote sensing, geography, computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, or related quantitative/technical field
• Hands-on experience with geospatial data and GIS tools, ideally QGIS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to investigate complex data or technical issues systematically
• High level of ownership and self-management - proactively moving problems toward resolution
• Comfortable using AI coding and analysis tools while applying critical judgement to verify results
• Able to work effectively in fast-paced environments where priorities and requirements can change
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Collaborative working style, able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Currently live in Berlin or willing to relocate

Preferred:

• Experience with Python and SQL
• Remote sensing or Earth Observation background
• Experience with geodatabases and large-scale data management
• AWS or other cloud infrastructure experience
• Machine learning or deep learning knowledge
• Software engineering experience
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Prefect
