Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack to join their AI-powered treasury platform team in London. This is a hybrid role working on enterprise-grade financial software that processes substantial daily transaction volumes for global customers.

Our client has built a sophisticated treasury solution that helps finance teams achieve real-time cash visibility and predictive accuracy. The platform integrates with major ERPs and banking systems, leveraging AI technology to analyze transactional data across multiple currencies and business units.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs while remaining comfortable with frontend work when needed
• Work across a large, sophisticated, multi-tenant SaaS codebase built to scale for enterprise customers
• Own the data layer, schema design, query performance, and data integrity with strong emphasis on PostgreSQL and SQL
• Write and maintain thorough test coverage using RSpec as a first-class part of delivery
• Package and deploy services using Docker within an AWS-based cloud infrastructure
• Write scripts and tooling to automate repetitive work, support data migrations, and maintain team velocity
• Instrument systems with strong observability practices including logging, metrics, and tracing
• Benchmark and profile code to identify performance bottlenecks and make evidence-based optimization decisions
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate business needs into robust technical solutions
• Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
• Participate in on-call rotation as part of you-build-it-you-run-it engineering culture

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 4-8 years of professional software development experience, ideally including full-stack work with a backend lean
• Strong SQL fundamentals; hands-on experience with PostgreSQL strongly preferred
• Comfortable working within large, sophisticated existing codebases and making changes safely
• Scripting ability for automation and tooling
• Experience with Docker or other containerization technologies
• Proven Git proficiency, including collaborative branching workflows
• Proficiency in at least one major programming language (such as Ruby, Python, or Java)
• Experience employing AI tools throughout the development lifecycle to speed up problem-solving and delivery
• Experience testing with RSpec

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails
• Frontend experience, ideally with React
• Experience with or solid understanding of AWS
• Experience building or maintaining multi-tenant, enterprise SaaS platforms
• Familiarity with observability tooling and practices (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting)
• Experience benchmarking and profiling code for performance
• Experience in the financial industry, particularly treasury, payments, FX, or ERP systems
