We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking an exceptional Director of Business Planning & Strategic Initiatives to lead the Office of the Chief Product and Technology Officer. This is a high-visibility, strategic leadership role supporting a 650-person product and technology organization during a pivotal period of transformation and growth.

As the right-hand to the CPTO, you will drive operational excellence, lead critical strategic initiatives, and serve as a force multiplier for executive leadership. This position combines strategy, operations, and executive partnership in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. Responsibilities

Annual Planning and Transformation Operations:

  • Partner with the CPTO to develop and execute a comprehensive 3-year strategic plan focused on product adoption, revenue retention and growth, and customer value delivery
  • Lead the annual strategic and financial planning process across all product functions, coordinating with Finance and go-to-market organizations
  • Identify and manage critical planning decisions, cross-functional dependencies, and organizational gaps
  • Oversee OKR and initiative tracking throughout the year to drive accountability across the business
  • Provide strategic support to executives on transformation initiatives

Leadership Team Operations:

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner to the leadership team, ensuring focus on highest-leverage priorities
  • Own the leadership operating rhythm including staff meetings, leadership offsites, quarterly business reviews, and board/executive committee touchpoints
  • Prepare materials for board presentations, investor briefings, and executive forums including narrative development and data synthesis
  • Establish and manage operational cadence and rituals for the CPTO and leadership team
  • Coordinate budget and headcount planning with Finance and Revenue Operations partners

Communications and Culture:

  • Build and maintain team-wide communications including newsletters, town halls, and intranet content to foster alignment and connection
  • Develop regular cadence of internal blogs and presentations to drive shared understanding of strategy
  • Monitor organizational health signals and proactively surface team sentiment, retention risk, and cross-functional friction with recommended actions
  • Craft critical communications and presentations for internal and external audiences

Strategic Cross-Functional Initiatives:

  • Lead point on strategic cross-functional projects as needed
  • Establish governance for change management planning across transformation initiatives
  • Partner with functional and technical program management teams to execute initiative plans

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, operations, or program management within a SaaS business
  • Management consulting or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred
  • Proven track record building, scaling, and refining strategy and programs for complex businesses
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
  • Experience with organizational design, organizational behavior, leadership development, or team development
  • Meticulous attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong data analysis capabilities and metrics-driven decision-making approach
  • Willingness to travel 25% on average, up to 50% occasionally (primarily domestic, some international)

Pay

This role offers competitive compensation reflecting the seniority and scope of responsibility. The client has indicated a base salary range of $223,750–$261,250 USD, plus eligibility for performance-based incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
