Responsibilities
Our client, a confidential manufacturing organization in Germany, is seeking a Working Student in Engineering to support a technical automation project. You will investigate opportunities to connect existing assembly lines to a future automated carton transfer system, working closely with experienced engineering specialists.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing ten existing assembly systems with regard to their carton interfaces
- Recording, documenting, and categorizing different system concepts
- Researching and evaluating potential conveyor systems and automation solutions
- Developing various technical approaches for connecting the production lines
- Creating a criteria catalog for technical and economic evaluation
- Comparing external vendor solutions with potential in-house developments regarding functionality, costs, and implementation effort
- Preparing a decision recommendation for the next steps
- Optionally supporting the design and development of a proprietary technical solution
What We're Looking For
We are representing our client in this search for a qualified candidate with the following profile:
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Technology, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field
- Technical understanding and genuine interest in machinery and production systems
- Structured and analytical working style
- Strong proficiency in MS Office applications
- Initial experience with CAD systems is advantageous
- Initiative and ability to work independently
- Good German language skills required for this role
This position offers practical experience in mechanical engineering, automation technology, and industrial engineering, with the opportunity to contribute to real investment and design decisions. You may have the possibility to base a study project or thesis on this work.
