Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential consumer products organization in their search for a Product Developer. In this role, you will:
- Analyze market opportunities, industry trends, and customer needs to develop innovative product concepts for textile and apparel items
- Guide the complete product development process from initial concept through production readiness, creating technical specifications, optimizing patterns and sizing charts, and developing solutions for high-quality, durable, and safe manufacturing
- Coordinate development and sampling of new products, evaluate prototypes, and derive improvements regarding functionality, quality, fit, and user experience
- Collaborate closely with international suppliers, align technical requirements, and support implementation of new product concepts through to production
- Ensure products meet the highest quality and safety standards by developing testing protocols and supporting internal and external quality and safety assessments
- Analyze legal and regulatory requirements, evaluate new product ideas for safety and sustainability compliance, and translate findings into concrete development requirements
- Coordinate relevant certifications and documentation, particularly GOTS, OEKO-TEX®, and other product-specific standards
- Analyze customer feedback, return reasons, and complaints to continuously improve product offerings
- Work cross-functionally with product management, purchasing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth information flow throughout the development process
What We're Looking For
- Degree in textile/apparel technology, product development, or comparable training
- Minimum three years practical experience in product development, textile technology, or quality management of textile products
- Strong intuition for product details, materials, manufacturing techniques, and customer needs
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements; experience with product safety and certifications is ideal
- Proficiency with standard design software (Illustrator, Photoshop) and MS Office
- Excellent German and English language skills, written and spoken
- Creative spirit, initiative, and passion for continuous product improvement
