Landscape Architect Senior Project Manager

Timmons Group is hiring a Landscape Architect Senior Project Manager for our Richmond, VA office. In this full-time position, you'll lead landscape architecture projects and teams, managing client relationships and driving project success from initial planning through construction completion.

About This Position

As a Landscape Architect Senior Project Manager at Timmons Group, you'll take ownership of complex landscape architecture projects within our Richmond-based Design division. This role combines strategic project leadership with hands-on involvement in design quality and technical execution. You'll direct multidisciplinary teams, manage client expectations, oversee budgets and schedules, and ensure each project delivers excellence in both design and implementation.

What You'll Do

• Lead landscape architecture projects from master planning, conceptual design, and detailed design through construction administration and project closeout
• Direct and mentor project teams, including landscape designers, engineers, and support staff
• Manage client relationships, conduct presentations, and ensure clear communication throughout project delivery
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, resource allocation, and project profitability
• Review and coordinate design drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents
• Manage construction administration, site observations, and quality assurance processes
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve technical challenges

What You Bring

• Valid landscape architecture professional license or equivalent professional credentials
• Significant senior-level experience managing landscape architecture projects and teams
• Demonstrated leadership ability and experience directing multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong client communication and relationship management capabilities
• Proficiency with landscape design software, CAD tools, and digital project management systems
• Deep knowledge of landscape design processes, construction methods, and project delivery standards
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet aggressive deadlines
