About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software organization seeking a Technical Account Specialist with deep expertise in storm, sewer, and flood modelling. This is a strategic, customer-facing role where you'll help water infrastructure clients maximize their investment in hydraulic modelling software. You'll work proactively to build trusted relationships, deliver expert guidance, and ensure customers achieve optimal outcomes on their critical water projects.

This is not a traditional support position. You'll own the customer success strategy, identify high-value engagement opportunities, and serve as a technical advisor who understands both the engineering and IT dimensions of complex water modelling implementations.

The role is based in the UK with hybrid or remote working arrangements available. Some travel to customer sites and industry conferences will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with water industry customers, understanding their technical challenges and strategic objectives
  • Develop a proactive engagement strategy to identify which customers need support and what technical guidance will drive the most value
  • Collate and analyse customer conversations to identify patterns, recommend improvements, and enhance the overall customer experience
  • Deliver expert coaching on model building, calibration, verification, and application of hydraulic modelling tools
  • Provide guidance on IT strategy including cloud deployment options and infrastructure optimization
  • Leverage scripting and emerging AI capabilities to add value and efficiency to customer implementations
  • Create and improve self-service materials, tutorials, and resources that drive better software adoption
  • Represent technical expertise through webinars, social media, conferences, and customer events
  • Collaborate internally with sales, product development, and engineering teams to advocate for customer needs
  • Provide data-driven technical recommendations based on customer usage analytics
  • Expand knowledge across adjacent product areas including asset management solutions

What We're Looking For

  • Recent commercial experience with InfoWorks ICM in an industry or consulting environment
  • Demonstrable scripting experience within hydraulic modelling platforms
  • Degree in engineering, science, or technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Experience working with cloud computing environments
  • Expertise in water modelling products beyond a single platform
  • Background in consulting or technical project delivery with large, complex customers
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to establish credibility as a subject matter expert
  • Analytical mindset with ability to translate customer feedback into actionable strategy
  • Comfort with public-facing activities such as presenting at conferences or delivering webinars
  • Self-directed approach to identifying opportunities and driving customer success initiatives
