Senior Project Controller (m/w/d) – Controlling | Qvest Group | Köln

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consulting organization seeking a Senior Project Controller to take on a central role in financial project governance. You will analyze key metrics, budgets, and project performance to create transparent foundations for strategic decisions. Working closely with project management, the PMO, and stakeholders across the business, you will use your analytical eye to identify variances early and support successful, economically sound project delivery.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Preparing, analyzing, and presenting monthly project reports while ensuring comprehensive financial oversight
• Conducting and coordinating project evaluations and financial project reviews
• Multi-project controlling across several projects and business units
• Analyzing plan-versus-actual variances and monitoring budgets, forecasts, backlog, and project costs
• Monitoring resource allocation and utilization rates, including reporting
• Managing and overseeing project billing, payment milestones, and intercompany allocations
• Providing operational support and close coordination with project management and the PMO
• Performing ad-hoc analyses and evaluations for leadership and stakeholders
• Supporting project administration and maintaining relevant systems, including time tracking and project data
• Developing controlling processes and systems further, serving as a point of contact for business-related project questions

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed university degree in business administration or a related field with relevant focus areas
• Several years of professional experience in project controlling
• Excellent analytical thinking with a structured, solution-oriented working style
• Strong understanding of complex projects with high numerical affinity and the ability to present reports transparently
• High degree of independence and initiative
• Cross-hierarchical communication skills that you confidently apply in international environments
• Ability to prioritize tasks independently and maintain attention to detail even during periods of high workload
• Very good skills in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
