About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization in Berlin seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join their team in a hybrid capacity. Reporting directly to senior leadership within a matrix structure, you will play a critical role in maintaining audit excellence and regulatory compliance for this regulated financial services provider.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent audit procedures based on approved audit plans and prepare comprehensive audit reports
- Support the development and maintenance of risk-based multi-year and annual audit plans
- Prepare, coordinate, accompany, and follow up on internal and external audits
- Create action plans and deficiency tracking systems, ensuring timely remediation of identified issues
- Assist in preparing management and partner reports, including annual and quarterly reporting
- Collaborate closely with internal audit leadership and group audit functions
What We're Looking For
- Strong audit background, either from an external audit firm or an internal audit department
- Deep understanding of payment services or similar financial sector operations
- Extensive experience conducting compliance audits, process audits, IT application audits, general IT controls reviews, and project audits
- Knowledge of risk management frameworks and the Three Lines of Defense model
- Familiarity with German and European payment services and banking regulations (ZAG, GWG, BDSG, EBA guidelines, BaFin circulars, DORA)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills in both German and English, written and verbal
- Tenacious and detail-oriented while maintaining a strategic overview and ability to present key findings at management level
- Analytical and structured working approach
