Customer Applications Engineer

Renesas Electronics is hiring a Customer Applications Engineer for our San Jose, California office. This is a full-time position supporting the technical success of our customers through expert guidance, troubleshooting, and application development.

Position Summary

As a Customer Applications Engineer at Renesas Electronics in San Jose, you'll serve as a technical bridge between our customers and our engineering teams. This role combines hands-on technical problem-solving with customer relationship management, helping clients successfully implement Renesas semiconductors and embedded systems in their products. You'll work directly with customers to understand their technical challenges and provide solutions that drive their success.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and guidance to customers implementing Renesas microcontrollers and semiconductor solutions
• Develop reference implementations, sample code, and application examples to demonstrate product capabilities
• Troubleshoot technical issues and identify root causes, collaborating with internal engineering teams when needed
• Conduct technical presentations, training sessions, and workshops for customer teams
• Document solutions, best practices, and lessons learned to build internal knowledge resources
• Gather customer feedback and requirements to inform product development priorities

What We're Looking For

• Strong foundation in embedded systems, microcontrollers, or digital electronics
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (C, C++, or assembly preferred)
• Experience with embedded system development tools and debugging techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional teams
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
