Cashier

Pilot Company is hiring a full-time Cashier in Arlington, WA, to join our retail operations team and deliver exceptional customer service at our travel center location.

About the Role

As a Cashier at Pilot Company's Arlington, WA travel center, you'll be the face of our business during every customer transaction. This full-time retail position is critical to our operations—you'll handle cash, card, and digital payments with accuracy and speed, keep our checkout area organized and welcoming, and help create a positive experience for every traveler and local customer who walks through our doors. You'll work in a fast-paced retail environment where attention to detail, friendliness, and reliability directly impact customer satisfaction and store performance.

Your Responsibilities

• Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems, handling cash, credit cards, and mobile payments
• Greet customers with a friendly demeanor and provide courteous service at all times
• Monitor inventory levels and notify management of stock shortages
• Maintain a clean, organized checkout area and comply with health and safety standards
• Count and balance cash drawers at the start and end of shifts
• Assist with stocking shelves and displays as needed during slower periods
• Answer customer questions about products and services
• Follow company policies and procedures, including loss prevention protocols

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus
• Ability to operate a cash register and point-of-sale system
• Strong math skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Willingness to learn and take direction
