Position Overview
We are representing a confidential industrial construction organization seeking a Senior Estimator with 10–15 years of experience. This remote position (East Coast / Eastern Time Zone strongly preferred) focuses on estimating complex projects involving structural steel fabrication, erection, equipment setting, and piping, with estimates reaching up to $50 million.
Our client needs someone who can manage multi-trade pricing solicitation across concrete, civil, electrical, and specialty subcontractors. Occasional travel to project sites nationwide is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed cost estimates for industrial construction projects from concept through final proposal
- Analyze project documentation including drawings, specifications, and RFIs to identify scope, risks, and value engineering opportunities
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and pricing for structural steel fabrication, erection, equipment setting, and piping
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing from subcontractors and vendors across various trades including concrete, civil, and electrical work
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure accurate scoping and budgeting
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and present estimates to leadership and clients
- Identify cost-saving measures and propose alternative solutions to meet client requirements
- Stay current on industry trends, material costs, and construction best practices
- Ensure estimates align with profitability targets
What We're Looking For
- 10–15 years of experience in industrial construction estimating
- In-depth knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection, equipment setting, and piping
- Demonstrated experience managing estimates for projects up to $50 million
- Proficiency in subcontractor and vendor solicitation across multiple trades including civil, concrete, and electrical
- Expertise in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Procore, or Sage Estimating, plus Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred but not required
- Willingness to travel as needed
- East Coast or Eastern Time Zone location strongly preferred
