26-27 Elementary Science Teacher (Next Year Opening)

Join KIPP in New Orleans as an Elementary Science Teacher for the 2026–27 school year. We're seeking a passionate educator who will inspire young scientists, guide inquiry-based learning, and help students discover how the natural world works.

About the Role

This is a full-time teaching position at a KIPP school in New Orleans, Louisiana, serving elementary-age students. You'll design and deliver engaging science lessons that balance hands-on experimentation with rigorous content instruction, foster curiosity about STEM, and build students' confidence as critical thinkers. You'll collaborate with your school team, communicate regularly with families, and use data to continuously improve your practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach science curricula aligned with state standards and KIPP's approach to knowledge building
• Create safe, inclusive classroom environments where all students can engage in scientific exploration
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction
• Facilitate hands-on investigations, experiments, and project-based learning activities
• Build relationships with families and communicate student progress regularly
• Collaborate with grade-level and school teams on curriculum, assessments, and student support
• Support KIPP's mission-driven culture and school-wide initiatives

Who We're Looking For

• Valid Louisiana elementary education teaching certification or equivalent credential
• Strong content knowledge in science and comfort teaching across multiple life science and physical science domains
• Demonstrated ability to design and facilitate inquiry-based, student-centered learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to high expectations for all students
• Prior teaching experience in elementary grades is valued
