About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential engineering organization in the Heilbronn area seeking an experienced Team Lead for Hardware & Software Development. Our client specializes in advanced power electronics for electrified vehicle systems, including inverters, converters, and on-board chargers for hybrid and electric vehicle applications.
This is a leadership role where you'll guide technical teams through complex development projects, working at the intersection of hardware design and embedded software engineering in the automotive sector.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical and organizational leadership for development projects focused on high-voltage power electronics
- Coordinate hardware and software development teams across project lifecycles
- Manage project planning, scheduling, and reporting activities
- Interface with stakeholders to secure and validate product and system requirements
- Guide and continuously improve hardware and software development processes
- Evaluate system, hardware, and software architectures
- Oversee hardware development from component selection and schematic design through PCB layout, routing, and signal/power integrity analysis
- Coordinate software development activities including bring-up, validation, and testing
- Support microcontroller programming efforts
- Lead verification and validation of electronic hardware (PCBA)
- Manage change control processes
- Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and international development partners
- Support sales teams during proposal and quotation phases
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or comparable technical field
- Several years of experience in hardware and/or software development, ideally in automotive environments
- Proven experience in technical or disciplinary leadership of development teams
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of power electronics development, control systems, and thermal management highly advantageous
- Familiarity with ECAD tools such as Altium Designer or Mentor Graphics, plus MATLAB/Simulink and CAN tools preferred
- Software experience ideally includes Automotive SPICE, requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS/Polarion), software architecture tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect), and AUTOSAR
- Structured and analytical working style with strong assertiveness
- Good German and English language skills
