26-27 4th Grade ELA Teacher

Join KIPP in Jacksonville, FL as a 4th Grade ELA Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year, where you'll build strong readers and writers while fostering a love of learning in a supportive, achievement-focused environment. This is a full-time teaching position at a school dedicated to preparing students for success in college and beyond.

What This Role Involves

As a 4th Grade ELA Teacher at KIPP Jacksonville, you will lead engaging literacy instruction that develops students' reading comprehension, writing skills, and critical thinking abilities. You'll create a classroom culture where all students feel challenged and supported, using evidence-based instructional strategies to help every learner grow. Your classroom becomes a space where curiosity is encouraged and students develop the foundational literacy skills essential for their academic future.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality English Language Arts instruction aligned with standards, incorporating guided reading, independent reading, and writers' workshop
• Design and implement engaging lessons that develop reading fluency, comprehension, and critical analysis skills
• Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and celebrates student growth
• Collaborate with colleagues, grade-level teams, and support staff to refine instructional practices and support student success
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and engage them in their child's learning journey
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives aligned with KIPP's mission

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree and state certification or eligibility as an ELA teacher (or commitment to obtain certification)
• Demonstrated passion for teaching elementary-grade students and commitment to educational equity
• Strong content knowledge in English Language Arts and ability to teach foundational literacy skills
• Excellent classroom management skills and ability to build positive relationships with students
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a school team toward shared goals
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners, including English language learners and students with IEPs
• Effective communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
