Technical Product Lead – AI Stockbroking App

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization building AI-powered financial applications across Southeast Asia. They are seeking a Technical Product Lead to own a critical product vertical within their regulated ecosystem. This is a hybrid role based in the United Kingdom, requiring at least three days per week in the local office.

This position sits at the intersection of product strategy, technical design, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for products that handle real money—payments, wealth management, and trading—where reliability and correctness are non-negotiable. The organization takes an AI-native approach, but expects rigorous judgment about when AI genuinely improves outcomes versus when deterministic systems must remain in control.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of a product vertical, including strategy, metrics, roadmap, priorities, and execution
• Shape technical design with engineering teams across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability
• Drive trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements, and user experience
• Integrate regulatory requirements into product design, including KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, and licensing
• Apply AI where it improves outcomes, establishing clear evaluation frameworks, safeguards, human oversight, and failure handling
• Ship products around external dependencies such as regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners
• Align cross-functional teams—Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance—around product decisions and launch requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of product management experience with ownership of complex technical products from strategy through production
• Strong technical foundation across system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems
• Experience working closely with engineers, with ability to review, challenge, and contribute to technical designs
• Experience in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or another regulated, high-consequence product domain
• Strong product judgment and ability to make difficult trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints
• Experience building with LLMs or AI products, including evaluation, reliability, and understanding when AI should not be used
• Strong English communication skills for collaboration with global teams

Nice to Have:

• Engineering or highly technical product background
• Experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks for ML or LLM-powered products
