(Senior) Business Automation Developer (all genders) I International

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential e-commerce client seeking a Senior Business Automation Developer to drive automated, self-serve solutions across international operations.

In this role, you will:

• Transform business processes into automated workflows—from discovery through rollout—partnering closely with business departments to analyze and redesign existing operations
• Design and optimize AI-driven solutions, leveraging hands-on expertise in modern large language models and the surrounding ecosystem to ensure reliable performance at scale
• Collaborate with a Center of Excellence for Automation to propose, prioritize, and lead initiatives that improve automation and AI platforms
• Work cross-functionally with technical experts, product managers, and business leaders to share best practices, document patterns, and enable self-serve automation company-wide
• Define and track metrics that demonstrate automation effectiveness and continuously optimize performance

What We're Looking For

• Product mindset with experience in product ownership or agile project management, including requirements gathering, backlog prioritization, and balancing quick wins with long-term scalability
• Proactive problem-solver who identifies bottlenecks and proposes scalable, user-centric solutions rather than simply executing tasks
• Hands-on experience with automation and orchestration tools such as n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar platforms
• Comfort integrating SaaS tools and internal systems via APIs, webhooks, OAuth, and event-driven patterns
• Experience with prompt engineering and building AI agents is a strong plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to both business and engineering stakeholders and create concise documentation
• Fluency in English (C1 level); German language skills (B2 level) are a plus
• Comfort working in an international, cross-functional environment

Location and Work Arrangement

This position offers flexibility to work remotely within Germany or from one of several office locations including Cologne, Darmstadt, Düsseldorf, or Berlin. The role is available as full-time or part-time on a permanent contract basis.
