What This Role Involves
As Assistant Manager at our Great Barr location, you'll be central to running a successful pub operation. You'll support the management team in maintaining high standards across all business areas—from customer service and food preparation to team management and stock control. Your focus will be on ensuring guests have a memorable experience whilst supporting your team to perform at their best.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Supervise and develop front-of-house and back-of-house staff
- Create and manage rotas and shift schedules to ensure adequate cover
- Maintain consistent standards in food and beverage service
- Monitor and manage stock levels and inventory
- Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements
- Support promotional campaigns and help achieve business targets
- Maintain the pub environment and appearance to a high standard
Requirements
- Proven supervisory or management experience, ideally in hospitality or retail
- Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to motivate and coach a diverse team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and licensing law is beneficial
- Genuine passion for customer service and creating welcoming spaces
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required
