Centralized Scheduler

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Centralized Scheduler to join their ambulatory services team. In this role, you'll serve as a critical communication hub, coordinating outpatient appointments and procedures across multiple clinic locations while ensuring patients receive timely, accurate scheduling support.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position working 40 hours per week in a standard office environment within the United States.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, cancel, reschedule, and register patients for outpatient visits and procedures across multiple ambulatory clinics
• Verify and update patient guarantor information annually to maintain accurate records
• Generate referrals and authorizations as needed during the scheduling process
• Schedule appointments according to clinic guidelines and medical appropriateness
• Collect all necessary patient information to complete scheduling and registration processes
• Communicate scheduling modifications and changes to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
• Respond to patient and staff needs and complaints professionally within the patient care environment
• Coordinate with referring physician offices to ensure written or electronic orders exist and are complete
• Complete work queues and daily tasks according to department protocols
• Respond to all patient communication promptly and escalate urgent needs appropriately

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and clinic locations simultaneously
• Detail-oriented approach to collecting and verifying patient information
• Professional customer service skills with a patient-centered focus
• Ability to sit for extended periods in an office environment
• Comfortable working with electronic health record systems and scheduling software
• Willingness to complete required background checks for regulated healthcare areas
