IT | OT Security Architekt (m/w/d)

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity consultancy based in Berlin. Our client protects IT, OT, cloud, and AI systems from digital threats through a modern approach that combines AI-assisted discovery and analysis with strategic human expertise. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact security architecture projects across diverse technology environments while contributing to the evolution of security consulting practices.

We are seeking an IT/OT Security Architect to join their growing team. You will design and evolve security architectures, guide cloud transformations, and advise senior stakeholders on complex security challenges. This role offers significant autonomy, exposure to cutting-edge security problems, and the opportunity to shape how AI is responsibly integrated into security advisory work.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve security architectures spanning IT, OT, cloud, and AI systems
• Create secure cloud and hybrid architectures across major platforms including landing zones, identity frameworks, network design, encryption, and security baselines
• Develop target architectures, security roadmaps, and migration paths for cloud transformations and multi-cloud scenarios
• Conduct threat modeling, architecture reviews, and risk analyses for applications, networks, cloud workloads, and platforms
• Design network and perimeter security including segmentation, firewalling, and Zero Trust Network Access for on-premises and cloud environments
• Develop IAM and PAM architectures as well as cryptography and PKI concepts, including cloud-native identity and key management services
• Assess and secure cloud platform services, container and Kubernetes environments, and CI/CD pipelines through DevSecOps practices
• Define security requirements for projects, products, cloud providers, and service providers
• Translate regulatory requirements (NIS2, DORA, ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz, BSI C5) into technical specifications and auditable controls
• Advise CISOs, cloud teams, architecture boards, and technical decision-makers
• Create security concepts, policies, and technical documentation
• Use AI-assisted tools for discovery, architecture reviews, and documentation with appropriate validation and approval processes

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications:

• Confident use of AI tools in consulting work with critical evaluation of outputs
• Strong awareness of confidentiality when using AI: understanding which data can be processed in which systems and recognizing risks such as data leakage, model training, and prompt injection
• Willingness to continuously evolve processes and deliverables using AI capabilities
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in IT/cybersecurity, with multiple years in architecture or consulting roles
• Broad technology understanding across network, endpoint, identity, application, and cloud domains
• Experience with Zero Trust and segmentation concepts as well as IAM/PAM technologies
• Solid working knowledge of ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz, NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK, SABSA/TOGAF
• Knowledge of cryptography, PKI, and secure application design
• Fluent German and English communication skills

Highly advantageous:

• Cloud architecture expertise: design and security of cloud and hybrid environments across major platforms, cloud-native security services, infrastructure-as-code
• Prompt engineering, AI agents, or LLM integration in workflows
• AI governance frameworks (EU AI Act, ISO/IEC 42001, OWASP Top 10 for LLM)
• Experience in regulated environments (critical infrastructure, financial sector, industrial/OT)
• Relevant certifications such as cloud security credentials, CCSP, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, SABSA SCF, TOGAF, CISM, or offensive security certifications
