About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential enterprise software organization that is working at the cutting edge of applied AI and automation. They need a scientist who can take advanced machine learning, optimization, and agentic systems and make them work in real commercial environments—not just in research settings, but solving live problems for major retailers and manufacturers.

As a Forward Deployed Scientist, you'll work directly with some of the world's largest companies on high-stakes challenges: demand forecasting, pricing and promotion optimization, and supply-chain decision-making. You'll own the science from end to end—understanding messy real-world constraints through to shipping solutions that change how businesses operate. This is applied AI where the stakes are real and the impact is measurable.

Responsibilities

• Own customer engagements from problem framing through solution delivery, working directly alongside customer teams to drive real commercial impact
• Apply and adapt frontier ML, forecasting, and optimization techniques—including agentic AI approaches—to problems without textbook answers
• Turn field learnings into product direction, ensuring each engagement strengthens the core platform for future customers
• Operate autonomously across diverse stakeholders, from technical teams to C-suite executives, making judgment calls that get solutions shipped
• Stay current with advances in applied AI and bring practical innovations back to the team

What We're Looking For

• Strong track record applying ML and data science to real-world commercial problems, ideally with depth in forecasting, optimization, or supply-chain and pricing domains
• Ownership mindset—you take ambiguous problems and drive them to results rather than waiting for direction
• Fluent programming skills in Python and SQL, with the ability to quickly adopt new tools as problems demand
• Excellent communication abilities—you can guide executives from confusion to confidence and explain complex models to non-technical audiences
• Comfort with ambiguity, direct customer contact, and fast-paced delivery environments
• Bonus: experience with agentic or LLM-based systems, or building ML solutions in production
