As a Mental Health Specialist II in Acute Behavioral Services, you'll provide direct clinical care and crisis intervention to individuals experiencing acute psychiatric or behavioral episodes. Based in Amboy, MN, you'll work in a structured healthcare setting where your clinical judgment, de-escalation skills, and compassion directly impact patient safety and recovery. This full-time role demands balancing therapeutic presence with rigorous documentation and clear communication across treatment teams.

Core Duties

• Conduct comprehensive mental health and behavioral assessments for individuals in acute distress
• Implement crisis intervention and evidence-based de-escalation techniques to stabilize patients safely
• Monitor vital signs, behavior, and clinical progress; maintain accurate, timely documentation
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, counselors, and treatment teams on care coordination and recovery planning
• Provide direct therapeutic support aligned with individual treatment goals and recovery milestones
• Respond appropriately to behavioral changes or safety concerns per established facility protocols
• Maintain a therapeutic, safe environment that uphold dignity and supports lasting recovery

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of two years' experience in mental health, behavioral health, or acute care settings
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to document clinical observations with precision
• Proven ability to remain professional, calm, and compassionate during psychiatric or behavioral crises
• Working knowledge of mental health conditions, psychiatric medications, and behavioral interventions
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Current, active licensure or certification as required by Minnesota state regulations
