DPD Group UK is seeking a professional Class 1 Driver to join our team in Stoke-on-Trent. This is a full-time opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading parcel delivery networks, delivering parcels and packages across our service area from our modern distribution depot.
Position Summary
We're looking for an experienced Class 1 HGV driver to operate our fleet of large goods vehicles and articulated lorries. You'll be the face of DPD on the road, ensuring parcels reach customers safely, securely, and on schedule. This role requires professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to excellent service standards.
What You'll Do
- Operate and manoeuvre Class 1 HGV and articulated vehicles across delivery routes
- Collect, sort, and deliver parcels and packages to businesses and residential addresses
- Plan and navigate delivery rounds efficiently using route planning systems
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any faults or maintenance issues
- Complete delivery documentation accurately and update tracking information in real time
- Interact professionally with customers and handle parcel queries with courtesy
- Comply with all driving regulations, vehicle safety standards, and working time directives
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the DPD brand positively
Who We're Looking For
- Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence with a clean, professional driving record
- Current Continuous Professional Development (CPD) digital tachograph certificate
- Physical fitness and ability to handle parcels of varying weights and sizes
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to health and safety standards
- Familiarity with digital systems and route planning software
- Full right to work in the UK
