Workday Middleware Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential technology consulting organization seeking a Workday Middleware Engineer to join their remote team. This full-time W2 position offers the opportunity to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade integrations between Workday and critical business systems.

You'll work on hands-on integration delivery using EIB, Studio, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday APIs, with a strong focus on reliability, security, and data quality. This role requires someone who has successfully shipped production Workday integrations and can navigate Workday's tenant model and security framework with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday and enterprise applications across the organization
• Build well-structured Studio integrations that are maintainable and production-ready
• Work with EIB, Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and Workday REST/SOAP APIs to deliver reliable integration solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders
• Translate ambiguous requirements into well-engineered technical solutions
• Participate in code review and design review processes to maintain high engineering standards
• Mentor junior engineers and elevate team capabilities through knowledge sharing
• Troubleshoot integration issues and ensure data quality across connected systems
• Configure and maintain Workday security model including ISU/ISSG patterns

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 6+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years focused on Workday integration development
• Deep expertise in EIB, Workday Studio, and Core Connectors
• Strong XSLT skills and experience building Workday Studio orchestrations
• Hands-on experience with Workday REST and SOAP APIs
• Strong understanding of Workday data model and tenant configuration
• Experience with Workday security model including ISU/ISSG patterns
• Familiarity with calculated fields and custom report design in Workday
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Workday Pro Integrations certification
• Experience with PICOF, PECI, or Cloud Connect for Payroll
• Familiarity with Workday Extend
• Exposure to multi-tenant or multi-region Workday deployments
• Experience integrating Workday with major SaaS platforms such as ServiceNow or Salesforce

Location: 100% Remote (United States)

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: $115,000–$135,000 annually
