About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential independent game studio seeking a Senior Programmer to join their core development team. Our client is working on an exciting simulation and management title, and this role offers the opportunity to shape core technical architecture in a collaborative, remote-first environment.
This is a permanent, full-time remote position open to candidates based in the United Kingdom and Europe.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain low-level core features and their underlying architectures
- Engage in code review with the programming team and provide detailed technical guidance to colleagues
- Collaborate effectively with design teams to devise and implement technical solutions to gameplay and design challenges
- Own and develop critical systems including AI, pathfinding, or physics implementations
- Contribute to the technical direction and architectural decisions for current and future projects
What We're Looking For
Required experience and skills:
- Previous experience implementing and debugging multi-threaded real-time systems at a senior level or above
- Deep understanding of the C# language and its common pitfalls
- Experience working on games with an ECS (Entity Component System) architecture
- Proven track record of owning and developing complex systems such as AI, pathfinding, or physics
- Passion for working in a small independent development team where collaboration is valued and everyone contributes to the creative vision
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working on Unity projects
- Experience implementing networking systems in multiplayer games
