Publishing Product Director

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential game development studio seeking a Publishing Product Director to join their team in Frankfurt. In this role, you will serve as the creative custodian of an unannounced title, embedded directly within the game team and accountable for protecting the creative vision while translating it into executable publishing work.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Acting as the bridge between game leadership and the publishing organization, serving as the source of truth on what the game is and what it means for players
• Translating the game's creative vision, tone, and player promise into work that marketing, communications, community, and commercial teams can execute with conviction
• Reviewing and briefing every major marketing, communications, and community output to ensure creative authenticity and proper player storytelling
• Partnering with senior publishing leadership to shape go-to-market plans that serve both the game and business objectives
• Driving franchise narrative, player promise, and creative direction across reveals, major beats, and post-launch moments
• Protecting the development team from operational noise while translating publishing priorities into actionable work
• Maintaining alignment between publishing execution and the game's vision, while keeping the development team grounded in player and market reality

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• 8+ years of experience working at the intersection of game development and publishing or marketing, with significant time embedded inside game teams
• Proven ability to translate creative vision into commercial activation without compromise, backed by strong creative judgment and editorial instinct you can defend under pressure
• Fluency across multiple business models (premium, live service, DLC, F2P) and multi-year roadmap strategy
• Cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to influence without authority across both game and publishing teams
• Strong player insight capabilities, audience segmentation knowledge, and community fluency
• Operating range that allows you to move from creative critique to commercial trade-offs seamlessly
• Experience supporting or launching at least one major game or live-service title from inside a game team
• A track record of being trusted by both game leadership and publishing leadership
