Accounting Specialist/ Especialista de Contabilidad

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing fintech organization in Colombia that is transforming financial services for small businesses and entrepreneurs. Our talent team is conducting a search for an experienced accounting professional to manage financial operations and ensure regulatory compliance across entities under financial supervision.

This is a fully remote, full-time position based in Colombia, working with a dynamic team in a rapidly scaling environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting processes and ensure tax, fiscal, and regulatory compliance for entities under financial regulatory supervision
• Evaluate current accounting practices and recommend process improvements
• Coordinate quarterly and annual financial audits, including corporate financial controls
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Execute financial analysis and special projects as required
• Monitor daily accounting records and approve manual adjustments when appropriate
• Implement appropriate accounting policies, principles, and methodologies
• Track regulatory changes in accounting, tax, and compliance matters, ensuring proper implementation
• Support preparation of regulatory reports for control entities
• Lead monthly and annual accounting close processes and maintain relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies
• Monitor internal controls across accounting, tax, and cross-functional processes
• Analyze and manage accounting and tax decisions in a timely and well-founded manner

What We're Looking For

• Licensed Public Accountant (Contador Público) with current professional license
• 6+ years of experience in financial and tax accounting, preferably in the financial services sector
• Big Four accounting firm experience highly desirable
• Participation in external and internal audit processes
• Knowledge of monthly and annual accounting close processes
• Strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS/NIIF)
• Expertise in Colombian tax regulations (DIAN) and regulatory entity requirements
• Experience in preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Knowledge of internal controls and accounting/tax risk management
• Proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and advanced Excel
• Ability to critically evaluate and challenge accounting and tax decisions when appropriate
