About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential federal contractor supporting critical homeland security missions. Our client seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep Linux expertise and hands-on experience implementing Kion for cloud governance. This is a remote, full-time position requiring a DHS Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage cloud-based infrastructure and processes across AWS and Azure environments
  • Provide advanced problem diagnosis and resolution for production systems
  • Administer and secure Linux systems at enterprise scale
  • Develop, test, and deploy Ansible playbooks and automation recipes
  • Implement and configure Kion for cloud governance and compliance
  • Analyze security scans and remediate findings in accordance with federal standards
  • Coordinate configuration changes, upgrades, and installations with application owners
  • Monitor network and system performance through centralized consoles
  • Lead coordination with third-party teams and audit reviews
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for support procedures
  • Supervise junior engineering staff as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 5–7+ years installing, configuring, and administering UNIX/Linux systems in large environments
  • Proven experience supporting and securing cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure
  • Hands-on experience implementing and configuring Kion
  • Experience with secure certificate management, LDAP integration, and SSO (SPNEGO, SAML)
  • Strong UNIX shell scripting skills and proficiency with DevOps tools like Ansible
  • Advanced troubleshooting abilities including log analysis, vendor coordination, and root cause analysis
  • Deep knowledge of federal security standards: DHS 4300A, DoD STIG, FISMA requirements
  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-directed work style with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust clearance (processing typically takes 4–6+ weeks)

Desired:

  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, Ansible, or related DevOps technologies
