Senior/Staff Frontend Engineer (React) – Remote friendly

Responsibilities

We are representing a rapidly growing fintech organization seeking a Senior/Staff Frontend Engineer to join their product engineering team in Berlin. In this role, you will craft web applications used by hundreds of thousands of European small and medium-sized businesses daily.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building new customer-facing features within cross-functional squad teams, owning quality from design through production
• Growing your technical leadership by leading design discussions, contributing to engineering-wide improvements, and elevating developer experience across the organization
• Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Backend engineering teams to deliver cohesive solutions
• Leveraging AI tools as part of your daily workflow to explore codebases, draft technical designs, prototype solutions, and accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous quality standards
• Contributing to the company's design system and UI library, built from scratch to ensure consistency across the platform
• Improving team tools, processes, and developer experience for your peers

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks candidates who demonstrate:

• At least three years of professional experience with React.js, HTML, and CSS
• Strong CSS fundamentals—pure CSS knowledge is required, as the team does not use utility libraries like Tailwind
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to excellence in all aspects of your work
• Clear, organized, and concise communication skills
• AI fluency and sound judgment—ability to use AI tools to move faster while staying critical, validating outputs, and protecting product reliability
• Experience or interest in technical leadership and mentoring peers

The position is remote-friendly and based in Berlin. Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Germany.
