Backend Software Engineer, PDP Experience

Our talent team is representing a confidential social technology platform in their search for a Backend Software Engineer. This role focuses on one of the highest-traffic pages in their ecosystem—a content and conversation experience that serves millions of daily users. You'll work on systems that power authentic discussions at massive scale, driving technical strategy, architecture, and execution for infrastructure that handles extraordinary volume.

This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the world.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to execute on product strategy and build user-facing features
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch
• Review code and design documents, provide feedback on product specifications and design mocks
• Participate actively in team strategy and planning discussions
• Contribute to engineering standards that improve developer workflows and establish best practices
• Balance speed with quality in a fast-paced environment where both rapid iteration and system reliability are critical
• Continuously develop your technical and non-technical skills

What We're Looking For

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 3+ years of post-internship, full-time professional software development experience building large-scale distributed systems
• 3+ years of software development experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages: Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, or gRPC, with the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule
• Self-directed and innovative mindset; comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-paced environments
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment and discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences
