Role Overview
As a Temp Mental Health Technician with Okgov in Pittsburg County, you'll play a vital role in our behavioral health services. You'll work alongside licensed clinicians and the broader care team to provide direct support to individuals receiving mental health treatment. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Support clients during group and individual therapeutic activities
- Monitor and document client behavior, mood, and engagement in treatment
- Assist with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment
- Respond to client needs with professionalism and de-escalation techniques when necessary
- Communicate observations and concerns to the clinical team
- Help maintain clean, organized, and secure facilities
- Participate in team meetings and follow established protocols
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED
- Genuine interest in mental health support and client advocacy
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience
- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification if not already held
- Ability to pass a background check
- Prior experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or a related field is a plus
