What This Role Involves
As a Security Representative, you'll be responsible for protecting a secure government facility and screening individuals entering our court premises. This part-time position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, professional environment across the 20th Judicial Circuit's Lee County locations. You'll work to identify and mitigate security risks while treating all visitors with professionalism and respect throughout their interaction with our courts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of persons entering secure judicial facilities
- Monitor and control access to court buildings and secure areas
- Respond to security concerns and potential threats in a calm, professional manner
- Maintain detailed records of security activities and incidents
- Follow all state and federal security protocols and procedures
- Communicate effectively with court staff, law enforcement, and the public
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Experience in at least one of the following: security officer screening at secure commercial or government facilities; law enforcement, corrections, or government security work; military service; or holding a Florida Class D or Class G security license
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Florida Class D Security Officer License (required for this position)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following established security protocols
