The Opportunity

Montana State University Extension is seeking a dedicated professional to guide the Roosevelt County 4-H program. Working alongside our Agricultural Agent, you'll take ownership of program direction, strategic planning, and hands-on facilitation that inspires positive youth development. This position combines program leadership with direct engagement—from curriculum design to volunteer coordination to measurable program outcomes—all rooted in land-grant research and community partnership.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the planning, development, and delivery of Roosevelt County's 4-H program to maximize youth participation and positive outcomes
• Facilitate educational programs in agriculture, life skills, science, and civic engagement aligned with Extension research
• Recruit, train, and retain volunteers to strengthen program delivery and community investment
• Evaluate program effectiveness and impact through data collection and reporting
• Partner with the Ag Agent and community stakeholders to ensure integrated, comprehensive Extension services
• Serve as the local Extension presence, building relationships with youth, families, schools, and agricultural organizations

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in agricultural education, youth development, education, or related field
• Demonstrated experience managing programs or leading projects, ideally in youth or community development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage diverse audiences
• Organizational ability to juggle multiple programs, volunteers, and stakeholders
• Knowledge of or willingness to develop expertise in agricultural science and Extension principles
• Commitment to fostering inclusivity and reaching underrepresented youth in agriculture and land-grant programs
