About This Position
Schneider is seeking reliable CDL-A drivers to join our refrigerated transport division based in the Roanoke area. You'll operate dedicated routes primarily serving major retail accounts, including Dollar General locations. This is a home-weekly position designed for drivers who want predictable time off and consistent freight assignments. All CDL-A holders are welcome to apply, whether you're an experienced reefer driver or transitioning into refrigerated transport.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Operate refrigerated trailers to transport retail freight across assigned routes
- Use liftgate equipment to safely load and unload cargo at delivery stops
- Manually unload freight using rolltainers—100% hands-on freight handling
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate professionally with retail partners and dispatch teams
Skills & Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A commercial driver's license required
- Refrigerated (reefer) endorsement or ability to obtain
- Clean driving record and safe operating history
- Physical ability to unload freight manually throughout your shift
- Willingness to work dedicated routes and maintain reliability
- Professional communication and customer service skills
