Schneider is recruiting a CDL-A Dry Bulk Truck Driver to work from our Charlottesville, VA operation. This full-time company driver role provides consistent regional freight hauling in tanker equipment, competitive weekly earnings, and structured home time every other week.
Position Summary
We're looking for an experienced CDL-A driver to join Schneider's dry bulk division. Operating from our Charlottesville base, you'll handle predominantly non-hazardous shipments in tanker trailers. This is a stable, company-driver position that balances earning potential with predictable personal time, making it ideal for drivers seeking reliability and regular paydays without the uncertainty of independent work.
Your Responsibilities
- Transport non-hazardous materials in tanker trailers across assigned routes
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance checks
- Maintain accurate logbook and delivery documentation
- Comply with all DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements
- Communicate with dispatch regarding load assignments and delivery schedules
- Operate equipment safely and professionally at all times
Skills & Qualifications
- Current CDL-A license
- Clean driving record meeting DOT standards
- Ability to pass medical examination and background screening
- Prior tanker or specialized vehicle operation a plus
- Dependable work ethic and strong communication abilities
- Comfort with extended time away from home on rotating schedules
