Federal Solution Engineer

Lumen is recruiting a Federal Solution Engineer for our Vancouver, Clark County office. This full-time role combines technical expertise with strategic consulting to deliver enterprise-grade connectivity and infrastructure solutions to government and federal sector clients.

What This Role Involves

As a Federal Solution Engineer at Lumen, you'll partner with government agencies and federal organizations to design, architect, and implement mission-critical network infrastructure. You'll translate complex federal requirements into scalable, secure solutions delivered through our nationwide fiber backbone. Your work bridges technical implementation with strategic consultation, ensuring federal clients receive connectivity optimized for their cloud, edge computing, and AI-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Consult with federal and government sector clients to understand their networking and infrastructure requirements
• Design custom solutions leveraging Lumen's fiber network and cloud-connected ecosystem to meet federal compliance standards
• Lead technical discussions with government stakeholders, translating requirements into actionable architecture
• Support solution implementation and deployment to ensure federal clients achieve their business and mission objectives
• Stay current on federal IT standards, security protocols, and emerging infrastructure technologies

Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in enterprise or government infrastructure consulting or network architecture
• Strong understanding of network design principles, cloud connectivity, and modern computing environments
• Knowledge of federal IT compliance frameworks, security standards, and procurement processes
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities for engaging senior technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
