Elementary Inclusion Special Education Teacher (Multiple Subjects)

Friendship Public Charter School seeks a dedicated Elementary Inclusion Special Education Teacher (Multiple Subjects) to support students with individualized education plans (IEPs) in general education classrooms at our Mount Rainier campus in Prince George's County. This is a full-time position where you'll collaborate with classroom teachers to provide specially designed instruction, accommodations, and behavioral support that enable all learners to access grade-level content and build academic confidence.

About the Role

As an Inclusion Special Education Teacher, you'll work alongside general education teachers to co-teach, pull out students for small-group instruction, and facilitate the implementation of individualized education programs across elementary grade levels. You'll teach reading, mathematics, writing, science, and social studies to students with various disability classifications, using evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to each student's strengths, learning profile, and IEP goals. You'll maintain detailed progress monitoring, communicate regularly with families, and participate in IEP meetings and data-driven instructional planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Co-teach and deliver specially designed instruction in inclusive general education settings
• Manage caseloads and monitor progress toward individualized education program goals
• Adapt curriculum, materials, and assessments to meet diverse learning needs
• Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports in collaboration with classroom teachers
• Communicate with families regarding student progress, accommodations, and support strategies
• Participate in IEP development, review meetings, and instructional planning teams
• Maintain accurate documentation of service delivery, progress data, and classroom observations

Qualifications

• Maryland teaching certification in Special Education with elementary endorsement, or equivalent
• Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and evidence-based intervention strategies
• Strong instructional skills in elementary reading, mathematics, and content areas
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt materials for students with disabilities
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and support staff
• Commitment to inclusive education and high academic expectations for all learners
