Position Summary
As Human Resources Compliance Manager at Rush University Medical Center, you will manage regulatory compliance, mitigate employment-related risks, and support our organization's commitment to lawful, ethical workplace practices across all hospital operations. This role bridges HR policy and organizational compliance, ensuring Rush maintains the highest standards of regulatory adherence in one of the nation's leading academic medical centers.
Your Responsibilities
- Monitor, interpret, and implement federal, state, and local employment law changes to maintain organizational compliance
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that reflect current regulatory requirements and Rush standards
- Conduct compliance audits and assessments to identify gaps and risks across hospital departments
- Design and deliver compliance training and education programs for managers and staff
- Investigate compliance concerns and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Partner with hospital leadership to document and communicate compliance initiatives
- Maintain records and documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory inquiries
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or related field preferred
- Previous experience in HR compliance or employment law, ideally in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of employment regulations including EEOC, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, and healthcare-specific compliance requirements
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Professional certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
