Research Intern

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a motivated Research Intern to support cutting-edge investigation within the Department of Neurological Sciences at our campus in the Illinois Medical District, Chicago. About the Role

As a Research Intern at Rush University Medical Center, you will work alongside experienced investigators and clinical staff within the Neurological Sciences Research Administration team. This Chicago-based position is designed to immerse you in the day-to-day operations of an active research program while building foundational skills in scientific inquiry, data handling, and laboratory or administrative support.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior researchers with ongoing studies and projects in the field of neurological sciences.
• Support the collection, organization, and accurate recording of research data.
• Help maintain documentation, records, and compliance materials related to active research protocols.
• Contribute to routine administrative and operational tasks that keep the research program running smoothly.
• Collaborate with team members and follow established procedures and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in neurological sciences, medical research, or a related scientific discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy when working with data and documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work dependably as part of a team, and manage assigned tasks.
• Reliable availability for the scheduled shift on-site in Chicago (this role is not remote).
