Safety & Security Supervisor

Vireo Health is hiring a Safety & Security Supervisor at our Elk River, Sherburne County facility. As a key member of our management team, you'll build and maintain the security infrastructure that protects our customers, employees, and operations across this location.

The Opportunity

Join Vireo Health as a Safety & Security Supervisor and take a leadership role in a physician-led, fast-growing cannabis company. This full-time position offers the chance to oversee security operations at a major facility in Minnesota, ensuring compliance, preventing loss, and fostering a culture of safety in a dynamic, expanding industry. You'll report directly to site management and lead initiatives that keep our Elk River location and the customers we serve protected every day.

Core Duties

• Supervise and mentor security team members, including scheduling, training, and performance management
• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety and security protocols tailored to cannabis industry regulations
• Monitor surveillance systems, alarm systems, and access control technology to prevent unauthorized access and theft
• Respond to security incidents, conduct investigations, and document findings for management and compliance purposes
• Conduct regular security assessments and risk evaluations across the facility
• Train all staff on safety procedures, emergency response, and company security policies
• Maintain detailed incident reports and security records in compliance with state and federal cannabis regulations
• Coordinate with local law enforcement and regulatory agencies as needed
• Ensure the facility meets all state-mandated security and compliance requirements for cannabis operations

Requirements

• Proven supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in security, law enforcement, loss prevention, or facility management
• Strong knowledge of security systems, surveillance technology, and access control
• Understanding of cannabis industry regulations and compliance standards (Minnesota experience a plus)
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to remain calm and respond effectively under pressure
• Physical ability to conduct regular facility walkthroughs and inspections
• Valid driver's license and willingness to pass a background check
• High school diploma or GED; additional security certifications preferred
