Responsibilities
- Conduct field patrols and surveillance operations along assigned border sectors
- Detect, intercept, and apprehend individuals attempting unauthorized border crossing
- Enforce immigration and customs laws to prevent smuggling of contraband and controlled substances
- Process and document apprehended individuals following federal procedures
- Operate vehicles, communications equipment, and other law enforcement technology
- Maintain detailed reports of patrol activities, incidents, and findings
- Respond to emergencies and security threats with situational awareness and quick decision-making
- Collaborate with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship at the time of application
- Between 18 and 40 years old at the time of appointment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and security clearance review
- Pass medical examination, drug screening, and physical fitness testing
- Correctable vision and hearing to pass federal standards
- Willing to relocate as required by the agency
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
