Role Overview
As a Border Patrol Agent - Experienced (GL-9 GS-11), you'll step into a mission-critical position designed for law enforcement professionals with proven field experience. What You'll Do
- Conduct patrol operations and intelligence gathering across assigned border sectors
- Perform inspections of persons, vehicles, cargo, and conveyances at ports of entry
- Investigate violations of immigration, smuggling, and customs laws
- Apprehend, process, and document individuals violating federal law
- Prepare detailed incident reports, evidence logs, and documentation for prosecution
- Coordinate operations with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners
- Apply sound judgment in high-pressure situations affecting national security
Who We're Looking For
- Experienced law enforcement officers with demonstrated field investigation experience
- Prior LEO service that qualifies you for higher federal pay grades
- U.S. citizenship and valid state driver's license
- Ability to pass extensive background investigation and federal security clearance
- Physical capability to perform demanding duties in challenging weather and terrain
- Strong oral and written communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work varied shifts and travel as operational needs require
