About This Position

This part-time, intermittent position offers meaningful work instructing financial management at the Coast Guard Academy. Working up to 19 hours per week at $55 per hour, you'll deliver engaging, practical finance education to military and military-affiliated adult learners. Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging instruction in financial management, budgeting, and related concepts for adult military learners
• Create comprehensive course materials, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with financial literacy standards
• Assess student understanding, maintain accurate performance records, and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with Coast Guard Academy faculty to integrate financial management education into broader military curricula
• Stay current with financial practices, regulations, and instructional methodologies in your discipline
• Adapt teaching approaches to serve diverse adult learners within the intermittent work structure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or closely related field
• Demonstrated experience teaching or training in financial or business subjects
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting fundamentals, and financial analysis
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for general audiences
• Flexibility to work intermittently (0–19 hours per week) in New London, Connecticut
• Familiarity with educational technology and learning management systems is valued
