About the Role
This part-time lifeguard position offers an opportunity to make a direct impact on public safety while maintaining a healthy, active work environment. You'll supervise swimmers, respond to emergencies, and help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience at our Los Alamitos aquatic centers.
What You'll Do
- Monitor swimmers and enforce pool safety rules at all times
- Perform vigilant surveillance of designated aquatic areas
- Respond immediately to emergencies and conduct rescues when necessary
- Administer CPR, First Aid, and water rescue techniques
- Document incidents and maintain safety records accurately
- Perform facility checks and assist with equipment maintenance
- Educate patrons on water safety and swimming guidelines
- Keep the facility clean and organized during your shifts
What We're Looking For
- Current Lifeguard Certification
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
- Strong swimming ability and comfort in the water
- Physical fitness to perform rescue and emergency response duties
- Alert, attentive observation skills
- Calm demeanor and ability to handle stressful situations
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliability and professional work ethic
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
