Medical Assistant I

UCHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant I to join its team in Southglenn, Centennial, where you will support clinical operations in the Cardiology department.

About the Role

This full‑time, onsite position operates on a day shift with a schedule of 80 hours per two‑week pay period. The role combines clinical and administrative tasks to help deliver efficient, patient‑centered care within a fast‑paced cardiology setting.

What You'll Do

• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready for patient visits.
• Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
• Assist physicians and nurses during procedures such as EKGs, wound care, and minor treatments.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records, maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
• Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and handle incoming calls with professionalism.
• Perform basic laboratory tasks such as collecting specimens and preparing them for testing.
• Provide patients with clear instructions regarding medications, follow‑up care, and pre‑visit preparations.
• Keep clinical areas clean, stocked, and organized according to infection‑control standards.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
• Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology, anatomy, and cardiology‑related procedures.
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems and standard office software.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate empathetically with diverse patient populations.
• Detail‑oriented with solid organizational abilities and the capacity to multitask effectively.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, hygienic work environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving clinical protocols and technology.
